Everything Old is New Again - Geelong

  • McAuley Hall, Sacred Heart College Aphrasia Street Newtown, VIC, 3220 Australia (map)

Early composers often served as inspiration for the creators that followed them, guiding their pursuit for invention and individuality.

This uplifting program explores music of composers that sought musical fodder from the past as a constant source of newness for the present.

Drawing on the great minds of Mozart, Thelonios Monk, Shakespeare and Brahms the daring works of Arvo Pärt, Joe Twist, Thomas Adès and Ralph Vaughan-Williams come together for an evening of music making filled with melodic beauty, magical storytelling and bold reinvention.
